Maps Exhibition Opening Night

The works of art in this exhibit by Italian artist Andrea Costa are an expression of his deep love and connection with the United States. In MAPS he reflects on the importance of words in our memory, history, and perception. Through these works the artist proposes not simply a finite number of maps, but as many as the eyes which regard them. It is not enough to simply ‘see’, it is necessary to look, to become active subjects, to follow the artist until he brings us to the discovery of our past. In this exhibition the artworks become vehicles for emotions, for streams of consciousness. Andrea Costa transforms the public from spectator to protagonist, in such a way that every viewer, in choosing their own fragment of map, multiplies the emotional value ad infinitum.
